If you're getting sick of the darker side of Batman movies and TV shows, which has even overtaken the cartoon versions of the character with the recent R-rated The Killing Joke, you're in for a treat next month. The campy Dynamic Duo from the 1960s TV series are back to save the day with an all-new animated feature.
Titled Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders, the movie will feature the voices of Adam West and Burt Ward as Batman and Robin, and Julie Newmar reprising her role as Catwoman. Other villains to appear include the Joker, the Penguin and the Riddler, each with a new voice since sadly Cesar Romero, Burgess Meredith and Frank Gorshin are all gone.
West, who is turning 88 next month, doesn't sound so youthful in the teaser for the film, but it's still great to have him back in the role. Other than that, we don't get much out of the new spot plotwise, though this scene could very well be in the movie and just redubbed in a way that fits the promotional purposes.
Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders hits digital outlets, like FandangoNOW, on October 11 and then gets a Blu-ray release on November 1.
