2015 was quite the year in pop culture: From saying a tearful farewell to McDreamy on Grey’s Anatomy to the epic squad showing in Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” video to finally (finally!) finding out who A is on Pretty Little Liars to Empire forever changing our lives (and so much more), our heads were constantly spinning at all of the happenings in the worlds of TV, movies, music and celebs. And tonight, the People’s Choice Awards 2016 were here to kick off awards season and celebrate it all! It was a wild night of touching speeches, killer performances, and even a stage-crashing—so let’s start to break down the best and worst moments of the night, shall we?

Jane Lynch kicked off her hosting duties by going back to her Glee roots with a musical performance, but it was her of-the-moment jokes that earned two thumbs up —including a pizza rat joke (yaaasss) and poking fun at the whole Steve Harvey Miss Universe flub. Touche.

Early wins going out to: Melissa McCarthy (Favorite Comedic Movie Actress), Shawn Mendes (Favorite Breakout Artist), Meghan Trainor (Favorite Album), and—not surprisingly—Chris Hemsworth (Favorite Action Movie Actor). What was surprising, though, was no love shown for the Weeknd in either of the music categories so far.

And props going out to Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello, who slayed their performance of “Stitches” and “I Know What You Did Last Summer.” So far, so good for Mendes tonight!

First awww moment of the night: Taylor Kinney’s touching shoutout to fiance Lady Gaga. In his acceptance speech for Favorite Dramatic TV Actor, Kinney had us all melting a little bit. “Thank you for having my back and supporting me,” he said to Gaga, who wasn’t in attendance. “You inspire me everyday.” So sweet!

But it was Vin Diesel who had us dabbing tears in our eyes. Accepting the Favorite Movie award for Furious 7, Diesel couldn’t help but get emotional about the late Paul Walker. “You’d be amazed at what you can do with love,” he said. “It was the love of everyone combined that saw us through to the end.” And capping it all off: His rendition of “See You Again.” Tear!

Snaps for more winners! Pretty Little Liars (Favorite Cable TV Drama), Johnny Depp (Favorite Dramatic Movie Actor), and Sandra Bullock (Favorite Movie Actress) all took home PCAs—and can we talk about how adorable Bullock’s speech was? Just perfection.

Ellen Degeneres just gave us our new mantra for 2016—and, well, life. Ellen took home the Favorite Humanitarian award, and gifted us with this nugget of wisdom: “Kindness is an innate quality that we all have, and we need more of that,” she said. Oh, and she left us with a pic of Chris Hemsworth shirtless. (THANK YOU Ellen.)

A close second for best line of the night? Dakota Johnson. When her dress broke while accepting the award for Favorite Dramatic Movie Actress, Johnson quipped: It’s not like nobody here has already seen my boobs.”

Let’s talk about the serious chills The Voice winner Jordan Smith gave us. His rendition of “You Are So Beautiful” with David Foster on the piano had us feeling all the feels.

The last televised awards went out to: Homeland (Favorite Premium Cable TV Show), The Big Bang Theory (Favorite Network TV Comedy), and Grey’s Anatomy (Favorite Network TV Drama)—but we’re handing out another award…

Hands-down, the best moment of the night goes to: Sharon Osbourne kicking her stage-crasher out of the spotlight. Lesson learned tonight: Do not try and pull a Kanye on the ladies of The Talk. You will not succeed, and might even receive a swift kick in the arse on your way out. (You can see how the crazy interruption went down here!)

Congratulations to all of the night’s winners!
