Deadpool is all about breaking the fourth wall and directly addressing his audience with the kinds of references that cause pop culture to get all tingly inside. The character wasn't always that way, though. When Rob Liefeld created him in the '90s, Deadpool won a legion of fans as a mercenary with a biting sense of humor, with the more overtly meta side of the character evolving in comics and games in the years after his debut.

But now that the movie is almost out, Deadpool's creator has gotten into a bit of the meta fun himself by creating a stunning, delightfully self-aware Mondo poster for Deadpool. Yes, the one and only Rob Liefeld made a Deadpool poster for the one and only Mondo and it is our great pleasure to show it to you.

But first, some words from Liefeld about its creation.

"I am a huge fan of all things Mondo and when the opportunity to illustrate a Mondo print celebrating the Deadpool film presented itself, I leapt at the chance! I love drawing Ryan Reynolds in his Deadpool costume, he looks amazing and is the true embodiment of the Merc with a Mouth! I'm so thrilled with the print and excited to get it out to the fans of the comics and the film! Thank you Mighty Mondo! "
