Fifty Shades Darker

After making a big splash in the publishing world, Fifty Shades of Grey debuted on movie screens in February 2015 and caused a sexy sensation, catapulting Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan into stardom. Earning more than $166 million at the box office in the U.S., the movie eventually made more than $400 million in overseas territories, totaling $571 million worldwide.

It was no surprise, therefore, when two sequels were quickly given the green light. The decision was made to film them back-to-back under the direction of James Foley, and production concluded in July. What can we expect from Fifty Shades Darker, the second installment in the series? Watch the video below.

The story, adapted from E.L. James' novel, begins almost immediately after the events in Fifty Shades of Grey, as Anastasia "Ana" Steele (Dakota Johnson) begins a new job as a personal assistant to an editor who works in publishing. Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) wants to reconcile with Ana, who cannot put him out of her mind. But the next stage of their relationship will require Ana to deal with Christian's past, which is fraught with peril.

The cast includes Kim Basinger, Tyler Hoechlin, Bella Heathcote and Hugh Dancy. Fifty Shades Darker opens in theaters on February 10, 2017. See the new poster in full below.
